Counselors are trained experts that are able to assist with assessing problems that people experience and help with selecting approaches that will assist to resolve these issues. It is often very beneficial to have a non-biased individual to listen and help build from your own strengths to assist in resolving the issue at hand.

How long do I need to wait to schedule an appointment?
The counselors at Healing Strides Counseling Services strive to schedule new assessments as soon as possible. Typically, you can expect to schedule an appointment within a week.
Do you accept insurance?
Healing Strides Counseling Services can submit your claims to your insurance company for you. We are contracted with a few insurance companies. However for those that we are not contracted with, we can sometimes match your benefits as if it were in-network.

Asking for help is a sign of weakness.
Nothing could be further from the truth. It takes strength to reach out and ask for help with something that may be overwhelming for you.
A counselor will quickly help me.
The goal of counseling is not to “fix” your problems. Counselors will assist you with developing your strengths to better enable you to handle stressors. This may require time as the counselor will help you discover your strengths, look at current coping skills and assist you with building from there. This can take some time to discover.
